Mary Kay Product Review

I recently received a bunch of make-up products from Mary Kay to test and review.  Not sure if anyone else thinks of Mary Kay and thinks of older women with outdated colors, but they have definitely changed my mind.  I actually really loved a lot of their stuff!  It was really comparable to a lot of other products I use that are more expensive than Mary Kay.  Here’s everything I got to try out…..

Mary Kay Lash Love Macara in Black ($15):

This mascara is great!  I love the brush because it really separates my lashes, while giving them lots of volume.  I also noticed that It dries pretty quick, so you can add another layer for extra volume.  It also stays all day and doesn’t flake at all.  Usually some mascara falls in little clumps on my cheeks throughout the day, but this stuff really lasted.  I would definitely recommend this product!

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color Apricot Twist ($14)/ Concealer Brush ($10)

This is a soft, creamy eyeshadow that’s very easy to apply.  You can use it as a base for your eyelids and then build a darker brown to the crease of your eyes.  Or, I like to wear it alone as an easy day wear that’s simple, gold, and shimmery.  I’m usually pretty reluctant to buy cream eyeshadows because they tend to not last all day or separate on your eyelid.  This eye color lasted me throughout the entire day.  I like the color and it’s really easy to dress up or down.  The brush wasn’t bad either, it wasn’t my favorite because it collects a lot of product, so I just had to clean it a little more often.  I didn’t hate it or love it, it was ok.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Shy Blush($12)

I didn’t mind this blush, it definitely reminded me or Nars Orgasm blush.  It’s just not my favorite color, but isn’t a bad blush.  It would be great it you just want a natural blush for da

ytime.  I love dramatic cheeks, so I had to apply a lot to get my desired outcome.

Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder($16)

I really liked this powder!  I use Make-Up Forever’s powder and this is very similar.  It’s a great setting powder and keeps shine away all day.  I just sprinkle a little bit into the lid and circle it onto my brush.  You definitely don’t need a lot, so this product will last me probably about six months.  I also really liked the brush this came with.  Super light-weight great for applying loose-powder.

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black($18)

I love gel eyeliner.  That being said, I really love this get eyeliner, but I hated the applicator brush.  It makes the lines a little too thick.  Unless you are amazing at applying gel, this brush might also make it a little difficult.  The eyeliner did last me all day, but I would rather use a slimmer brush.

This pot will last a long time, and I would compare it to my Make-Up Forever gel eyeliner.

Mary Kay Bronzing Powder ($18)

This bronzer is great for creating a very sun-kissed look.  I am pretty tan, so I had to apply this a couple times to match my skin color.  I’ve been obsessed with HOOLA by Benefit because it gives me a great glow for my skin color.  Not sure if I will be switching to Mary Kay’s bronzer, but I think it would be great for someone with a lighter skin tone.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango($14)

Not gonna lie, when I saw this color in the tube, I hated it.  But, after trying it on, it actually was a very pretty color. I would wear a small coat of this is the daytime just to give my lips a little color and shine.  Also, this would be great over a red lipstick to give it a bolder look.  The shade is long lasting and I didn’t have to apply very much throughout the day.
