Just a few things that might improve your beauty routine……
Fix clumpy mascara:
Your mascara should be replaced around the 3 month mark. Of course, if you reapply more than once a day, it should be less than 3 months. But when your wand starts to clump up, just run it under warm water until it runs clear. This will remove all the dried clumps from you wand. Also, do not pump your mascara more than once. You’re just making it dry out faster by pumping more air into it.
This is an easy way to exfoliate. Use sugar and coconut oil on your lips and scrub with your toothbrush. Rinse off scrub and the dry skin will fall off with it.
This is when you put your eyeliner between each lash. It makes your lashes appear thicker and fuller. It really opens and gives you bigger eyes. Try this instead of lining on top of your eyelashes.
Washing your hair:
I’ve been washing my hair the same way for years. I only shampoo my scalp and I only condition the ends of my hair. Shampoo will dry out your ends and conditioner will flatten the top of your hair. If your scalp needs more moisture, try doing a conditioning treatment once a week. Also, I apply castor oil to my scalp when my hair is wet and let it sit overnight. Wash it out the next day. This will also help your hair grow.
Mainting Your Color:
To help keep color lasting longer use a conditioning treatment once a week. I use Keratin Brazilian Tech Condition Treatment. You can also find some other great kinds at Sally’s Beauty Supply.
Use a primer:
I can’t stress enough how much using a primer helps in your make-up your make-up routine. It hydrates your skin and makes your foundation easier to spread. This also means you will use less foundation because it’s not getting sucked into your pores. I love Smashbox Photo Finish, but a cheaper version that compares is Baby Skin by Maybelline.
Apply a bronzer under your cheekbones and apply a highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones and your temple. Apply a pink blush to the apple of your cheeks.
I bought this trio from Sephora and it has a bronzer, blush, and highlighter all in one. You can also double up for your eyeshadow by using the highlight for your brow, the pink for you lids, and the bronzer for your crease for a great daytime shadow. It’s the MicroSmooth Baked Sculpting Trio in Sassy for $21.
Don’t Shampoo Daily:
Avoid shampooing your hair everyday. Shampoo dries out your hair and your pores will secrete more oil to compensate for dryness. If your hair starts to feel greasy after the first day, try a dry shampoo instead. It also adds volume and fullness. Batiste is my favorite brand and smells great, too!
Fix Brassy Hair:
Use a purple shampoo to get rid of brassiness. I use a purple shampoo mixed with my regular shampoo every time I wash my hair. It helps keep it bright and helps keep orange or yellow blondes away. I use Shimmer Lights and you can get almost 32oz. for less than $17.
